Ingredients

Base
- 700 g ground beef
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1 red bell pepper
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 can crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup beef stock
Spices
- 1–2 tbsp chilli powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp oregano
- salt & pepper
Beans
- 1–2 cans kidney beans
Optional
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 1 splash Worcestershire sauce
Method
- Brown beef.
- Sauté onion and bell pepper.
- Add garlic.
- Add spices → bloom.
- Add tomato paste → caramelize.
- Add tomatoes and stock.
- Simmer 45–60 minutes.
- Add beans for the last 20 minutes.
